Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed structural analysis and design for various types of bridges, including highway, railway, and pedestrian bridges.
• Develop concept designs, detailed drawings, and technical specifications for bridge structures.
• Conduct load rating and structural health assessments for existing bridges.
• Utilize advanced structural analysis software (e.g., MIDAS Civil, CSIBridge, SAP2000) for complex modeling and simulations.
• Ensure designs comply with national and international bridge design codes and standards (e.g., AASHTO, SANS).
• Collaborate virtually with project managers, clients, and construction teams to ensure project objectives are met.
• Review shop drawings and respond to construction queries during the fabrication and erection phases.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the firm's technical knowledge base.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a strong structural focus.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration is mandatory.
• A minimum of 7 years of specialized experience in structural engineering, with a significant portion dedicated to bridge design and analysis.
• Proficiency in bridge-specific structural analysis software and CAD tools.
• In-depth knowledge of bridge construction materials, techniques, and construction methods.
• Experience with seismic design principles and relevant codes for bridge structures.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication skills, especially in a remote setting.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage project deliverables effectively in a remote work environment.
