About the Role Our client is seeking a skilled Remote Civil Transportation Engineer to contribute to significant infrastructure projects, with a focus on serving the needs of the Paarl region. This fully remote position involves the design, analysis, and planning of transportation systems, including roads, highways, and public transit networks.

This role is perfect for an experienced transportation engineer who values the flexibility and autonomy of remote work while driving impactful projects forward.

Key Responsibilities • Design and develop plans for transportation infrastructure, such as roadways, intersections, and traffic management systems. • Conduct traffic analyses, modeling, and simulations to evaluate system performance and capacity. • Prepare technical reports, environmental impact assessments, and construction documentation. • Collaborate virtually with project managers, urban planners, and other engineering disciplines. • Ensure designs comply with national and local transportation standards and roadway design guidelines. • Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in transportation engineering.

Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Transportation Engineering. • Minimum of 5 years of experience in transportation infrastructure design . • Proficiency in transportation design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Vissim, Synchro) and GIS tools. • Strong understanding of traffic engineering principles, geometric design, and pavement design . • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for complex transportation challenges. • Proven ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote setting .
