Key Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate, and adjudicate motor vehicle insurance claims in accordance with policy terms and conditions.
• Gather information from policyholders, witnesses, repairers, and other relevant parties.
• Assess damages, determine liability, and authorize repair costs or settlement amounts.
• Communicate claim status updates and decisions clearly and empathetically to policyholders.
• Negotiate settlements with claimants and third parties within prescribed authority limits.
• Maintain accurate and detailed claim files using the company's claims management system.
• Identify potential fraudulent claims and identify them for further investigation as per protocol.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant insurance regulations and company guidelines.
• Manage a caseload of claims efficiently, prioritizing tasks to meet service level agreements.
• Provide exceptional customer service throughout the claims handling process.

Requirements

• A Matriculation Certificate (Grade 12) is essential; relevant tertiary qualification or industry certifications (e.g., NQF Level 4/5 in Short-Term Insurance) are advantageous.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Claims Adjuster, specifically within the motor vehicle insurance sector.
• Proven understanding of motor vehicle repair processes, accident investigation, and liability assessment.
• Familiarity with South African road accident fund (RAF) claims processes is a plus.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities, essential for remote work.
• Proficiency in claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet performance targets.
