Das ist der Job
We have two commercial arms.
Darum lohnt es sich
As our Coding Auditor, you’ll share your expertise when it suits you, helping sharpen the skills of our clinical coding team through targeted education, insightful audits, and close collaboration with external clients.
Beyond auditing, you’ll also have the opportunity to roll up your sleeves and assist with hands-on clinical coding during your spare time - a great way to stay sharp, stay connected to the work, and contribute even more to the team’s success.
You’ll be the go-to person for coding excellence - mentoring and motivating our team, guiding us toward audit success, and drawing on your deep knowledge of Australian Coding Standards to keep our department performing at its best. Our clinical coding managerial team is based in Melbourne.
We’d like to offer you… • A highly competitive salary • Salary packaging up to $15,900 and meals and entertainment up to $2,650 per annum (a tax-free advantage that comes with working for a charity). • Several opportunities to travel, principally visiting client sites. • A chance to earn a bonus through our Employee Referral Program. • All the advantages of working for a friendly, get-ahead organisation including professional development in a collaborative national team, and access to our EAP.
We’re building a pool of experienced clinical coding auditors so that when a role opens, we can move quickly to bring the right person on board.
This is an Expression of Interest, not a live vacancy. • Casual / Part-time Contract • Remote - based anywhere in Australia What You’ll Be Doing This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact - on your own schedule.
You’ll report to our Clinical Coding Manager (based in Melbourne) and work alongside a talented, tight-knit group in a bright and collaborative environment. This is the kind of role where your knowledge and experience will be truly valued - and where you can contribute meaningfully without it taking over your life.
What You’ll Bring • Several years’ hands-on experience with Australian Coding Standards (ICD-10-AM, ACHI, and ACS) • A recognised clinical coding/auditing qualification through HIMAA, La Trobe, or equivalent • Experience in coding education and audit, ideally within a tertiary hospital setting • Confidence using 3M CodeFinder, with solid knowledge of casemix and clinical coding • Strong time management skills and the ability to juggle priorities to meet KPIs and deadlines • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of engaging effectively with external stakeholders • A sharp eye for detail and a naturally organised approach to your work We are… AusHealth!
Today, we’re a 200-strong organisation and a medical research charity that contributes more than $4.5 million each year to support vital research. One of these is AusHealth Hospitals, which provides revenue cycle management services - including clinical coding - to some 180 hospitals and clinics across the nation.
Our headquarters (including our research collaboration hub, the Accelerator) is based in Adelaide. Our coders -are based all over the country. And one more thing… In the coming months, we expect to begin rolling out CODEXA, our revolutionary AI-enabled clinical coding software.
Developed by AusHealth over three years with an investment of $1.2 million, CODEXA is more than AI-enhanced or AI-augmented software - it is purpose-built, authentic AI designed to help clinical coders work through complex cases in minutes, not hours.
Our goal is to equip AusHealth clinical coders with CODEXA, making them the first in the world to use this technology at scale.
