About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Attorney to join their law firm on a fully remote basis, with a connection to Pretoria. This position is ideal for a seasoned litigator who excels in handling complex commercial disputes and arbitration proceedings. You will manage cases from inception to conclusion, conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, and representing clients in various forums. The role demands a high degree of autonomy, excellent case management skills, and the ability to maintain strong client relationships remotely. Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of complex commercial litigation matters, including contractual disputes, shareholder disagreements, and regulatory challenges.
- Conduct thorough legal research, analysis, and strategy development for each case.
- Draft pleadings, motions, affidavits, and other court documents with precision.
- Represent clients in court appearances, arbitrations, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
- Advise clients on legal risks and strategies for dispute resolution.
Requirements
- Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience specifically in commercial litigation.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and resolving complex disputes.
- Exceptional research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Proficiency in remote work technologies and a commitment to maintaining effective client communication remotely.
