About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and proactive Remote Construction Materials Procurement Specialist to join their dynamic team. In this fully remote role, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring all necessary construction materials for projects across various locations, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery. Your expertise in supply chain management and deep understanding of construction materials will be crucial in optimizing project budgets and maintaining project schedules without the need for physical presence on construction sites. You will leverage digital tools and communication platforms to connect with suppliers and project teams, contributing to the seamless execution of construction endeavors from afar, supporting projects primarily in Richards Bay and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and source reliable suppliers for a wide range of construction materials, ensuring competitive pricing and quality standards.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with vendors to achieve cost savings and favorable terms.
• Manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery, coordinating logistics and delivery schedules.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier performance, and inventory levels through digital systems.
• Collaborate closely with project managers and site teams remotely to understand material requirements and delivery timelines.
• Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost reduction and improved procurement strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, specifically within the construction industry.
