Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on corporate structuring, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate governance.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide array of commercial contracts, including service agreements, supply agreements, and licensing agreements.
• Ensure compliance with relevant corporate and commercial laws and regulations in various jurisdictions.
• Advise clients on risk management strategies related to their commercial operations.
• Conduct due diligence for corporate transactions.
• Manage legal aspects of cross-border transactions and international business dealings.
• Liaise with external counsel and regulatory authorities as required.
• Conduct thorough legal research and provide insightful legal opinions.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
• Contribute to the firm's internal knowledge sharing and practice development initiatives.

Requirements

• A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree or equivalent legal qualification.
• Admitted as an Attorney or Advocate in South Africa.
• A minimum of 6-8 years of post-qualification experience in corporate and commercial law.
• Substantial experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Strong understanding of corporate law, M&A processes, and international business practices.
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and negotiation skills.
• Superior written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proven ability to manage a demanding workload independently and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
• Proficiency in legal research databases and virtual collaboration tools.
