Remote Corporate Governance Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Corporate Governance Specialist to join their team in a fully remote capacity, with ties to Port Elizabeth . This role is essential for maintaining the highest standards of corporate governance and compliance within the organization. You will be responsible for advising on regulatory requirements, managing board secretarial functions, and implementing best practices in corporate governance. As a remote position, strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently are paramount. Key Responsibilities

• Advise the board of directors and management on corporate governance best practices and regulatory compliance.
• Manage board meeting logistics, prepare agendas, take minutes, and track action items.
• Ensure compliance with the Companies Act, King IV principles, and other relevant regulations.
• Maintain statutory registers and oversee corporate filings with regulatory authorities.
• Develop and deliver training programs on corporate governance to staff and directors.

Requirements

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate governance, company secretarial duties, or compliance.
• Strong understanding of South African corporate law and governance codes.
• Excellent minute-taking, document management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage time effectively, and communicate clearly in a remote setting.
