Remote Cost Accountant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Remote Cost Accountant to join their manufacturing operations team. This position is fully remote, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere in South Africa. You will be responsible for analyzing production costs, developing cost models, and providing insights to improve operational efficiency and profitability. This is a key role that supports strategic decision-making through accurate cost data, offering the flexibility of remote work and the satisfaction of impacting a core business function.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing costs, including direct materials, labor, and overhead.

• Develop and maintain standard costing systems and product costing models.

• Monitor inventory valuation and cost of goods sold.

• Prepare regular cost reports and variance analyses for management review.

• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements.

• Assist with budgeting and forecasting related to production costs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; relevant professional certification (e.g., CIMA) is a plus.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and methodologies.

• Proficiency in Excel and experience with cost accounting software.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for remote analysis.
