Remote Crop Agronomist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Remote Crop Agronomist to join their innovative agricultural technology company, serving clients across South Africa , including the Eastern Cape . In this fully remote position, you will leverage your expertise to provide advanced agronomic advice and data analysis to farmers, helping them optimize crop yields, improve soil health, and implement sustainable farming practices. You will utilize cutting-edge digital tools and platforms to deliver expert guidance directly to our clients, fostering strong relationships and driving agricultural advancements from a distance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide remote agronomic consulting services to farmers, focusing on crop planning, soil management, and pest/disease control.
• Analyze farm data, including soil test results, weather patterns, and satellite imagery, to provide actionable insights.
• Develop customized crop management plans and recommendations using proprietary software platforms.
• Educate clients on the latest agricultural technologies, sustainable practices, and product applications.
• Collaborate with the product development team to improve digital agronomy tools and services.
• Monitor crop performance remotely and provide timely advice to address emerging challenges.

Requirements

• Degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agriculture, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in agronomy, crop consulting, or agricultural extension services.
• Strong understanding of crop physiology , soil science, and integrated pest management (IPM).
• Proficiency in using farm management software, data analysis tools, and digital agronomy platforms.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport remotely.
• Must have a reliable internet connection and a dedicated home office space for remote work.
