About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative and experienced Remote Culinary Development Chef to lead the creation and refinement of new menu offerings for their expanding catering services. This role is entirely remote, requiring the chef to conceptualize, test, and document recipes and culinary techniques from a home-based kitchen or a shared commercial kitchen space, coordinating remotely with the broader team. You will be responsible for driving culinary excellence, ensuring dishes meet high standards of taste, presentation, and scalability for remote production. The ideal candidate is a creative culinary artist with a passion for innovation, strong understanding of food costs, and the ability to translate creative ideas into practical, replicable catering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, develop, and test new recipes and menu items, focusing on innovation and market trends.
• Document all recipes clearly, including precise measurements, cooking methods, and plating instructions for remote execution.
• Collaborate remotely with the catering operations and procurement teams to ensure feasibility and cost-effectiveness of new dishes.
• Maintain a high standard of food quality, taste, and presentation in all developed recipes.
• Conduct remote food cost analysis and provide recommendations for menu pricing and profitability.
• Stay abreast of culinary trends, ingredients, and techniques to continuously inspire menu development.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a Chef, with a strong focus on menu development and culinary innovation.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage creative projects remotely.
• Excellent understanding of food science, cooking techniques, and flavor profiles.
• Strong knowledge of food costing, inventory management, and supplier relations.
• Ability to create clear, concise, and detailed recipe documentation.
• Formal culinary training or equivalent professional experience.
