About the Role
Our client is actively seeking a talented Remote Data Scientist to join their innovative team, focusing on Energy Analytics . This fully remote position allows you to work from anywhere in South Africa , contributing to groundbreaking insights within the energy sector. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement advanced machine learning models for energy consumption forecasting, anomaly detection, and predictive maintenance.
- Analyze large, complex datasets from various energy sources to extract actionable insights and identify key performance drivers.
- Design and build data pipelines for efficient data collection, cleaning, and processing.
- Visualize and communicate complex findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through compelling reports and dashboards.
- Collaborate with engineering and business teams to define data-driven strategies and solutions.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and energy analytics .
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related quantitative field.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in data science, with a strong background in energy analytics or a related industry.
- Expertise in programming languages such as Python or R, and associated data science libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Proficiency with SQL and experience working with large-scale databases and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
- Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data visualization techniques.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
