About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and proactive Remote Dispatch and Fleet Coordinator to manage their transportation operations from a remote setting, based ideally within proximity to Sandton, Gauteng , but working entirely from home. This crucial role involves overseeing the scheduling, dispatching, and tracking of a fleet of vehicles, ensuring maximum efficiency and adherence to delivery schedules and safety protocols. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of logistics software, and the ability to manage a remote team effectively, contributing to the seamless functioning of the company's nationwide logistics network while working autonomously.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize dispatch software to assign routes and schedules to drivers, optimizing for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor fleet vehicle locations and progress in real-time, providing support and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and internal departments to coordinate deliveries and resolve logistical challenges.
  • Maintain accurate records of fleet activities, including mileage, fuel consumption, delivery status, and driver performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations and company policies.
  • Coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules and respond to emergency roadside assistance requests.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in fleet management , dispatching, or logistics coordination.
  • Proficiency with dispatch and fleet management software (e.g., route optimization tools, GPS tracking systems).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
  • Strong understanding of transportation regulations and best practices.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
