Remote Dispatcher

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and organized Remote Dispatcher to join their expanding logistics team, supporting operations across South Africa with a focus on flexibility and efficiency. This role is crucial for ensuring the seamless coordination of delivery schedules and driver assignments, all managed from a remote work environment. You will be the central point of contact for drivers, clients, and internal teams, managing real-time updates and resolving logistical issues promptly. Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and assign delivery routes and schedules to drivers using dispatch software.
• Monitor driver progress and location in real-time, providing support and addressing any delays or issues.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and internal departments to ensure smooth logistics operations.
• Manage and update dispatch records, ensuring accuracy of information regarding deliveries and driver performance.
• Respond promptly to inquiries and resolve any logistical problems or emergencies that arise during transit.
• Utilize dispatching tools and technology to optimize route planning and ensure timely deliveries across the country.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Dispatcher or in a similar role, preferably within the transportation or logistics industry.
• Excellent communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with dispatching software and general computer applications.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
• Strong understanding of geographical areas relevant to South African transport routes.
• Reliable internet connection and a dedicated, quiet workspace are mandatory.
