Remote Dispatcher - National Network

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a proactive and skilled Remote Dispatcher to manage their national transportation network from the comfort of their own home. This role is essential for coordinating the movement of goods across South Africa , ensuring efficiency, punctuality, and safety. You will be the central point of contact for drivers, clients, and operational teams, utilizing advanced communication and tracking systems to oversee all dispatch operations. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage real-time vehicle movements and driver schedules across the country using dispatch software.
• Assigning optimal routes and loads to drivers based on location, delivery windows, and vehicle capacity for national routes.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, providing support, instructions, and addressing any issues that arise during transit.
• Communicate with clients and internal teams regarding shipment status, potential delays, and ETAs.
• Maintain accurate dispatch logs, update shipment statuses, and generate reports on driver performance and delivery metrics.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and disruptions, implementing contingency plans to minimize impact on operations.

Requirements

• Previous experience in dispatch, logistics, or transportation coordination, preferably in a remote capacity.
• Proficiency with dispatch management software, GPS tracking systems, and communication tools.
• Excellent communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• A dedicated home office setup with reliable high-speed internet is essential.
• Strong understanding of national road networks and transportation logistics principles.
