Remote E-commerce Operations Lead

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and strategic Remote E-commerce Operations Lead to oversee the end-to-end operations of their online business. This is a fully remote position, requiring a candidate with extensive experience in managing supply chains, logistics, inventory, and customer service within an e-commerce context. You will be responsible for optimizing operational efficiency, ensuring timely order fulfillment, and enhancing the overall customer experience from your remote base. This role is crucial for scaling the company's online capabilities and maintaining high standards of service delivery across all markets served from Vereeniging .

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize all aspects of the e-commerce supply chain, including warehousing, inventory management, and order fulfillment processes.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve delivery times, reduce shipping costs, and enhance customer satisfaction with order tracking and delivery.
• Oversee inventory levels across all online channels, ensuring stock accuracy and minimizing stockouts and overstock situations.
• Manage relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers and other vendors, negotiating contracts and ensuring service level agreements are met.
• Lead the customer service function for the e-commerce channel, ensuring timely and effective resolution of customer inquiries and issues.
• Implement and refine operational procedures, leveraging technology and data analysis to drive continuous improvement in the Vereeniging operations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in e-commerce operations management, supply chain, or logistics.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale e-commerce operations and optimizing fulfillment processes.
• Strong understanding of inventory management systems, warehouse operations, and shipping logistics.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to lead and manage a remote team and collaborate effectively with cross-functional departments.
• Experience with e-commerce platforms and order management systems is highly desirable.
