Remote Educational Play Therapist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a creative and compassionate Remote Educational Play Therapist to deliver specialized support to children and families remotely, serving areas including Port Elizabeth . In this role, you will utilize play-based therapeutic techniques delivered via online platforms to help children process emotions, overcome challenges, and enhance their social and cognitive development. You will work with families to create a supportive home environment conducive to therapeutic play, offering guidance and strategies to promote positive outcomes. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct virtual play-based assessments to understand children's emotional and developmental needs.
• Design and deliver engaging play therapy sessions tailored to individual children's goals via secure video conferencing.
• Educate and empower parents and caregivers with techniques to support their child's emotional regulation and development through play.
• Develop creative play therapy activities and materials that can be easily implemented at home.
• Collaborate with other professionals involved in a child's care, such as educators or counselors, on a remote basis.
• Maintain detailed case notes and track client progress in a secure electronic system.

Requirements

• Master's degree or higher in Play Therapy, Child Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
• Registered and licensed Play Therapist or equivalent credential.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in applying play therapy techniques with children.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct effective therapy remotely using digital tools.
• Strong understanding of child development, attachment theory, and trauma-informed care.
• Excellent communication, empathy, and ability to build rapport with children and families online.
