About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented and motivated Remote Electrical Design Engineer with a focus on renewable energy projects. This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere. You will be responsible for the electrical design and engineering of solar PV and other renewable energy installations, from concept to completion. Your work will involve creating detailed electrical schematics, system layouts, and specifications to ensure optimal performance and grid integration. Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems for utility-scale and commercial renewable energy projects.
- Develop single-line diagrams, 3D electrical models, and grounding designs.
- Perform power system studies, including load calculations, short-circuit analysis, and protection coordination.
- Specify electrical components such as switchgear, transformers, inverters, and cables.
- Ensure designs comply with all relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with project managers, site engineers, and clients through virtual communication channels.
Requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in electrical design, with a significant portion focused on renewable energy.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, PVSyst, or similar design and simulation software.
- Solid understanding of grid interconnection requirements and energy storage systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective remote collaboration.
- Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and meet project deadlines.
