Remote Electrical Design Engineer - Solar Projects

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Remote Electrical Design Engineer with a specialization in solar projects to join their expanding team. This role is fully remote, allowing you to contribute to cutting-edge solar energy solutions from anywhere. You will be responsible for the electrical design of utility-scale and distributed solar power systems, from conceptualization through to construction documentation. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and wiring layouts for solar PV systems.

• Perform electrical calculations, including load analysis, voltage drop, and fault current calculations.

• Specify electrical components such as inverters, transformers, switchgear, and cabling for solar installations.

• Ensure designs comply with relevant electrical codes, industry standards (e.g., IEC, NEC), and client specifications.

• Collaborate with mechanical engineers, project managers, and external stakeholders in a remote environment.

• Conduct design reviews and provide technical support during the construction and commissioning phases of projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

• 3-5 years of experience in electrical design, with a significant focus on solar PV projects.

• Proficiency in solar design software (e.g., PVSyst, AutoCAD Electrical, Helioscope).

• Strong understanding of grid‑tied and off‑grid solar systems, battery storage, and power electronics.

• Excellent communication skills, particularly for remote collaboration.
