Remote Electrical Engineer - Offshore Projects

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Remote Electrical Engineer to contribute to their exciting offshore projects . This position is entirely remote, offering significant flexibility. You will be responsible for the electrical design, engineering, and technical support for offshore platforms and installations. This includes developing schematics, selecting equipment, and ensuring compliance with stringent industry standards for hazardous environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine or offshore electrical systems and be adept at collaborating virtually with diverse engineering teams and stakeholders. This is a unique chance to apply your expertise to challenging, high-impact projects from the comfort of your own home office.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and specify electrical systems for offshore oil and gas platforms, substations, or wind turbines.
• Develop electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and equipment specifications .
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant marine, offshore, and hazardous area standards (e.g., ATEX, IECEx).
• Perform load analysis and power system calculations for offshore installations.
• Select and procure electrical equipment suitable for harsh marine environments.
• Provide remote technical support during the construction, commissioning, and operational phases.

Requirements

• BEng or BSc in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a proven focus on offshore or marine projects.
• In-depth knowledge of hazardous area classifications and associated equipment.
• Proficiency with electrical design software and simulation tools.
• Experience with project management methodologies and virtual collaboration tools.
• Strong understanding of international marine and offshore regulations.
