Remote Electrical Engineer - Power Distribution

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Remote Electrical Engineer with a specialization in power distribution to join their global team. This fully remote role offers the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to critical infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for the design, analysis, and planning of electrical distribution systems, ensuring reliability and efficiency. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of medium and low-voltage systems, protective devices, and grid infrastructure. This position supports projects for a diverse client base, often with operations near East London .

Key Responsibilities

• Design and engineer electrical distribution systems, including substations, feeders, and network layouts.
• Perform load flow studies, fault analysis, and protection coordination for distribution networks.
• Specify electrical equipment such as switchgear, transformers, cables, and protection relays.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant electrical codes, standards, and utility requirements.
• Collaborate effectively with remote project teams, clients, and contractors.
• Provide technical expertise and support during the construction, commissioning, and operational phases of distribution projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on Power Systems.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in electrical power distribution engineering.
• Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., CYME, ETAP, SKM Power*Tools).
• In-depth knowledge of medium and low-voltage distribution systems and associated equipment.
• Experience with utility standards and grid interconnection requirements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills suitable for a remote role.
