About the Role
Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Remote Electrical Engineer specializing in renewable energy projects to join their global team. This fully remote position is a unique opportunity to contribute to the future of sustainable energy solutions from anywhere. You will be involved in the design, analysis, and optimization of electrical systems for solar, wind, or other renewable energy installations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in power systems, a keen understanding of grid integration, and the ability to work autonomously in a remote setting. This role supports projects for clients often located near Nelspruit .
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems for renewable energy projects, including solar PV, wind farms, and energy storage systems.
- Perform electrical load calculations, grid interconnection studies, and energy production estimates.
- Select appropriate electrical equipment, such as inverters, transformers, switchgear, and cabling.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and external stakeholders in a remote capacity.
- Provide technical support during the construction, commissioning, and operation phases of renewable energy projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Systems or Renewable Energy.
- 5+ years of experience in the design and engineering of renewable energy systems.
- Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., PVSyst, ETAP, PSCAD).
- Strong understanding of grid interconnection requirements and regulations.
- Experience with energy storage systems (ESS) and battery management systems (BMS) is highly desirable.
- Excellent remote collaboration and communication skills.
