About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Remote Electrical Engineer to focus on Renewable Energy Integration . In this fully remote role, you will be crucial in developing and implementing strategies for effectively connecting and managing renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind, into existing power grids. Your work will involve technical analysis, system design, and collaboration with diverse teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of these clean energy solutions. This position offers the unique opportunity to shape the future of energy sustainability from anywhere, contributing significantly to projects in the Northern Cape and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and engineer electrical systems for the integration of renewable energy sources (solar, wind) with the grid.
  • Perform power system studies, including load flow, fault analysis, and stability studies, related to renewable energy integration.
  • Develop technical specifications and requirements for grid-connected renewable energy projects.
  • Collaborate remotely with project managers, site engineers, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and project success.
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies and methodologies for enhancing the reliability and efficiency of renewable energy systems.
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and proposals related to renewable energy integration projects.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the grid connection of renewable energy assets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a specialization in Power Systems or Renewable Energy.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical engineering, with specific experience in renewable energy integration or grid studies.
  • Strong knowledge of power electronics, grid codes, and interconnection standards for renewables.
  • Proficiency in power system simulation software (e.g., PSS/E, PSCAD, ETAP).
  • Experience working effectively in a fully remote team environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
