Remote Electrical Systems Architect

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Remote Electrical Systems Architect to conceptualize and design complex electrical systems for global projects. Working entirely remotely, you will be responsible for defining the architecture, standards, and integration strategies for our clients' electrical infrastructure. This leadership role requires a visionary thinker who can translate high-level business objectives into scalable, reliable, and efficient electrical system designs. You will collaborate with distributed teams of engineers and stakeholders, providing technical direction and ensuring architectural integrity from afar, making this a unique opportunity for a senior engineer based anywhere but contributing significantly to projects based out of Mossel Bay .

Key Responsibilities

• Define and document the overall architecture for electrical systems, including power distribution, control, and communication networks.
• Establish electrical design standards, guidelines, and best practices for the organization.
• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies, components, and vendors for electrical system implementation.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams working on various project phases.
• Conduct architectural reviews and ensure designs align with scalability, reliability, and security requirements.
• Develop roadmaps for future electrical system enhancements and technology adoption.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5 years in a systems architecture or lead design role.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing large-scale electrical systems, data centers, or industrial automation solutions.
• Deep understanding of power quality , energy management systems , and network protocols.
• Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
• Excellent remote communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
