Remote Employment Lawyer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Remote Employment Lawyer to provide expert legal counsel on all employment-related matters for their operations across South Africa , including the Free State province. This fully remote position allows you to contribute your specialized knowledge from the comfort of your home office. You will be responsible for advising on compliance with labor laws, managing employee relations issues, and supporting HR functions. Key Responsibilities

• Advise on all aspects of South African employment law , including recruitment, termination, discrimination, and dispute resolution.
• Draft, review, and update employment contracts, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance.
• Represent the company in CCMA proceedings, bargaining councils, and labour court matters.
• Provide guidance on disciplinary actions, grievances, and performance management processes.
• Conduct training sessions for HR and management on employment law updates and best practices.
• Stay abreast of changes in labor legislation and their impact on the company's workforce.

Requirements

• Admitted Attorney with a minimum of 6 years of dedicated experience in employment law.
• In-depth knowledge of the Labour Relations Act , BCEA, EEA, and other relevant legislation.
• Proven experience representing employers in labour disputes and negotiations.
• Excellent drafting skills for employment-related documents and policies.
• Strong advisory and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide practical solutions.
• Comfortable and effective working autonomously in a fully remote capacity.
