Remote Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and organized Remote Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator to join their dedicated team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute to maintaining high safety and sanitation standards across various operational sites from anywhere in South Africa. You will be responsible for coordinating EHS initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulations, and promoting a culture of safety and well-being. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of EHS principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a remote setting. Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the implementation and monitoring of environmental health and safety programs.
• Assist in developing and updating EHS policies, procedures, and training materials.
• Conduct remote reviews of incident reports and facilitate investigations.
• Track and analyze EHS metrics, preparing regular reports for management.
• Maintain EHS documentation and records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Communicate EHS information and updates to relevant stakeholders.
• Support site-specific EHS efforts through remote guidance and resource provision.
• Stay informed about current EHS legislation and best practices.
• Assist with the coordination of EHS training sessions for remote employees.
• Respond to EHS-related inquiries from employees and management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Public Health, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an EHS role, with a focus on coordination or administration.
• Understanding of environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with EHS management software is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
• Must have a reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace.
• A proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential EHS issues.
