About the Role
Our client seeks a highly motivated Remote Environmental Health Officer to oversee and guide sanitation practices across its diverse operational sites, supporting locations like Mossel Bay . This role is integral to ensuring that all facilities meet stringent environmental health and hygiene standards through remote oversight, policy creation, and virtual consultation. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing best practices that promote a healthy and safe environment for all stakeholders. This is a key position for professionals who excel in independent work, possess a deep understanding of public health principles, and are adept at driving compliance through digital channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive environmental health and sanitation policies and procedures for all company facilities.
- Conduct virtual risk assessments and audits to identify potential health hazards and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to site managers and staff on best practices for hygiene, waste management, and pest control.
- Monitor compliance through remote reporting and analysis of data, recommending and facilitating corrective actions.
- Stay updated on local and national environmental health legislation and guidelines, ensuring organizational policies remain current.
- Develop and deliver training materials on environmental health and sanitation topics for remote and on-site staff.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in environmental health , sanitation management, or public health policy.
- In-depth knowledge of public health regulations , sanitation standards, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective policies and procedures.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in virtual collaboration tools, data analysis software, and digital reporting platforms.
