About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and knowledgeable Remote Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to join their team. This position is dedicated to developing and implementing robust health, safety, and sanitation protocols across the organization from a distance. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, conducting remote risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety and hygiene. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with a strong background in EHS and a passion for creating safe and healthy work environments, contributing to the overall well-being of employees regardless of their physical location, and supporting operations potentially in areas like Upington .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive environmental, health, and safety programs.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable national and local EHS regulations and standards.
• Conduct remote site assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues.
• Develop and deliver engaging EHS training materials and programs for remote employees.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and environmental concerns, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate EHS records, documentation, and reporting systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in EHS roles, with a strong emphasis on sanitation and hygiene.
• Proven ability to develop and implement effective EHS policies and procedures.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for remote engagement.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively in a remote work setting.
