Remote Environmental Manager - Mining Sector

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Remote Environmental Manager to lead environmental stewardship initiatives within their mining operations. This role is critical for ensuring compliance with all environmental regulations, developing and implementing sustainability strategies, and managing the environmental impact of mining activities. Working entirely remotely, you will collaborate with site-based teams, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to uphold the highest environmental standards. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive environmental management systems and plans.
• Ensure compliance with national and international environmental regulations and permitting requirements.
• Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and monitor environmental performance.
• Oversee waste management, water management, and rehabilitation programs.
• Develop and implement strategies for biodiversity conservation and climate change adaptation.
• Provide environmental training and awareness programs to employees and contractors.
• Liaise with regulatory agencies, community groups, and other stakeholders on environmental matters.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in environmental management, with significant experience in the mining industry .
• In-depth knowledge of environmental legislation and best practices.
• Experience with EIA processes, environmental monitoring, and reporting.
• Proven ability to manage complex environmental projects and lead cross-functional teams remotely.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
