About the Role

Our client is looking for an organized and proactive Remote Event Catering Coordinator to manage the planning and execution of catering services for a diverse range of events, operating entirely from a remote setting. This role is crucial for ensuring that client expectations are met and exceeded through meticulous planning, effective communication, and seamless coordination between clients, culinary teams, and logistics. You will be the central point of contact for all event-related catering inquiries, providing an exceptional experience for clients regardless of geographical location, all while supporting operations in the Durban area. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented multitasker who thrives in a fast-paced, virtual environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of event catering, from initial client consultation to final service delivery, remotely.
• Develop customized catering proposals and menus based on client needs, budget, and event specifications.
• Liaise effectively with chefs, kitchen staff, and event venue managers to ensure smooth operational flow.
• Manage event logistics, including staffing, transportation, and equipment requirements.
• Maintain accurate client records and event details in the company's CRM system.
• Proactively identify and resolve any potential issues or challenges to ensure successful event outcomes.

Requirements

• Proven experience in event planning , coordination, or catering management, preferably with remote work experience.
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, for client and team interaction.
• Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects concurrently, and meet tight deadlines.
• A background in hospitality or a related field is advantageous.
