About the Role

Our client is seeking a creative and highly organized Remote Event Planner with a specialization in catering to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will design, coordinate, and manage a variety of catering events from conception to completion, all while working from a remote location. You will be responsible for understanding client needs, developing bespoke menus, coordinating with culinary teams and vendors, and ensuring flawless execution. This position requires excellent communication, strong project management skills, and a passion for creating exceptional dining experiences for clients throughout South Africa, supporting events possibly originating near Vereeniging .

Key Responsibilities

• Consult with clients to understand their event requirements, vision, and budget for catering services.
• Develop creative and customized menu proposals, considering theme, dietary needs, and culinary trends.
• Coordinate all aspects of event logistics, including staffing, venue setup, timelines, and vendor management.
• Liaise with chefs, kitchen staff, and service teams to ensure seamless preparation and delivery of food and beverages.
• Manage event budgets effectively, tracking expenses and ensuring profitability.
• Oversee event execution remotely, providing support and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the process.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Event Planner or Coordinator, with a strong portfolio demonstrating successful catering event management.
• Excellent understanding of catering operations, food presentation, and service styles.
• Exceptional organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
• Strong negotiation and vendor relationship management abilities.
• Proficiency in event planning software and virtual collaboration tools.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and teams remotely.
