About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and motivated Remote Exploration Data Scientist to join their innovative team. This position is fully remote, allowing you to contribute from anywhere. You will leverage advanced data analytics, machine learning, and statistical modeling techniques to extract actionable insights from vast geological and geophysical datasets. The goal is to enhance mineral exploration targeting, improve resource estimation accuracy, and drive strategic decision-making for future mining ventures. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement machine learning models for predictive exploration targeting and anomaly detection.
• Analyze large, complex geological, geochemical, and geophysical datasets to identify patterns and trends.
• Build data visualization tools and dashboards to communicate exploration insights effectively to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with geologists and geophysicists to define data requirements and refine analytical approaches.
• Automate data processing pipelines and ensure data quality and integrity.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science, AI, and their applications in mineral exploration.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Geosciences, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, with a proven track record in applying ML to complex datasets.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with relevant libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong understanding of statistical modeling, data mining, and machine learning algorithms.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
