About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Exploration Geologist to spearhead critical mineral exploration initiatives from anywhere within South Africa. This position plays a pivotal role in identifying and evaluating new mineral prospects, focusing on resources essential for future technologies. You will be instrumental in developing exploration strategies, managing geological data remotely, and collaborating with on-site teams to advance project viability. This is a unique opportunity for an autonomous and experienced geologist to drive discovery in a remote-first capacity, contributing to our client's strategic vision for sustainable resource development, with the primary operational focus being in the Western Cape region, accessible via remote collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive exploration programs for critical minerals, managing all aspects remotely.
• Analyze and interpret geophysical, geochemical, and geological data using advanced software tools.
• Utilize remote sensing and GIS technologies for target generation and regional exploration.
• Liaise effectively with field teams, consultants, and management through digital communication channels.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and proposals for exploration projects.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, new exploration technologies, and geological research relevant to critical minerals.

Requirements

• Postgraduate degree (MSc or PhD) in Geology or a related geoscience discipline.
• A minimum of 6 years' experience in mineral exploration, with a strong focus on base metals or critical minerals.
• Demonstrated expertise in geological interpretation, structural geology, and deposit modeling.
• Proficiency with exploration software, GIS platforms, and data management systems.
• Excellent remote communication, project management, and self-discipline skills.
• Ability to travel periodically to field sites when required.
