Remote Field Service Engineer - Telecoms

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Field Service Engineer specializing in telecoms to join their distributed team. While this role is field-based, the coordination and initial support are managed remotely, making it ideal for self-starters comfortable with independent work and travel. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment at customer sites. This position requires extensive travel but offers the flexibility of a remote-first operational structure, ensuring you can manage your work from anywhere when not on-site. The focus is on delivering exceptional on-site support and resolving complex technical issues promptly within the telecoms infrastructure domain.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, configuration, and commissioning of telecom equipment, including base stations, routers, and antennas.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure optimal network performance and uptime.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical hardware and software issues reported by remote support teams or clients.
• Provide technical guidance and support to local technicians and clients during on-site interventions.
• Document all service activities, repairs, and configurations accurately and submit reports promptly.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while working on customer premises.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar role within the telecoms sector .
• Strong understanding of mobile network technologies (e.g., 4G, 5G), fiber optics, and transmission systems.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electronic and network equipment.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel extensively.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
