Remote Fleet Dispatch Manager - National Operations

About the Role

Our client, a premier national logistics and transportation company, is seeking an experienced and results-driven Remote Fleet Dispatch Manager to lead their remote dispatch operations. This role is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in South Africa while managing a critical component of the company's success. You will be responsible for overseeing dispatchers, optimizing fleet utilization, ensuring on-time deliveries, and maintaining high safety standards across the entire fleet. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and lead a team of remote dispatchers, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluation.
• Develop and implement strategic dispatch plans to maximize fleet efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Oversee the real-time tracking of all fleet vehicles, ensuring effective route management and timely deliveries.
• Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, traffic laws, and company policies across the fleet.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for dispatch operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
• Collaborate with fleet maintenance, customer service, and sales departments to ensure seamless operations.
• Manage incident response protocols for emergencies or disruptions, ensuring swift and effective resolution.
• Utilize and optimize dispatch software and technology to enhance operational effectiveness.
• Analyze operational data to provide reports and insights to senior management regarding fleet performance and dispatch efficiency.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and accountability within the remote dispatch team.

Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in fleet management or dispatch operations, with at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role.
• Proven track record of successfully managing dispatch teams and optimizing fleet operations.
• Strong understanding of logistics, transportation management, and South African transport regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage a remote team effectively.
• Proficiency in fleet management software, dispatch systems, and MS Office Suite.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Self-motivated, highly organized, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision in a remote setting.
• Must have a reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated, quiet home office space.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
