Remote Freight Scheduler

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and proactive Remote Freight Scheduler to manage their national and international shipping operations from home. You will be responsible for planning and optimizing freight routes, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective movement of goods. This role demands excellent analytical skills, a strong understanding of global logistics, and the ability to manage complex schedules in a virtual setting. You will be a key player in maintaining efficient supply chains and meeting client delivery commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize daily, weekly, and monthly freight schedules for various transportation modes.
• Coordinate with shipping lines, trucking companies, and air cargo carriers to book space and confirm shipments.
• Monitor shipment progress, proactively identify potential delays, and implement contingency plans.
• Negotiate freight rates and contracts with transportation providers to ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate records of all shipments, including documentation, costs, and delivery times.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and carriers regarding shipment status and potential issues.

Requirements

• Proven experience in freight scheduling , logistics planning, or supply chain management.
• Strong understanding of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and various transportation modes .
• Proficiency with logistics software and transportation management systems (TMS).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting with strong self-discipline.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
