About the Role

Our client is seeking a specialized Remote Geotechnical Engineer with expertise in subsurface investigation to join their fully remote team. This role is crucial for planning, interpreting, and reporting on diverse geotechnical site investigations across various project types, including infrastructure, buildings, and renewable energy developments. You will leverage your deep understanding of soil mechanics and site characterization techniques to provide critical data for design teams, all while working from your chosen location. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and design comprehensive geotechnical site investigations, including borehole programs, CPT soundings, and geophysical surveys.
• Interpret borehole logs, laboratory test results, and in-situ test data to characterize subsurface conditions.
• Prepare detailed geotechnical investigation reports, including soil profiles, engineering properties, and preliminary recommendations.
• Provide remote technical support to project managers and design engineers regarding subsurface conditions.
• Ensure investigations meet project-specific requirements, regulatory standards, and best practices.
• Utilize advanced software for data analysis, visualization, and report generation.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related earth science field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience focused on geotechnical investigation planning and execution.
• Proven ability to interpret complex subsurface data and assess geological risks.
• Proficiency with geotechnical investigation software and data management tools.
• Strong understanding of South African geological conditions and relevant standards.
• Excellent written communication skills and the ability to produce clear, concise technical reports remotely.
