About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated GIS Specialist with experience in the mining sector to join their fully remote technical team. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for managing, analyzing, and visualizing geospatial data to support exploration, environmental monitoring, and operational planning. You will work independently, collaborating virtually with geologists, engineers, and environmental scientists across different time zones. This position offers the flexibility of working from home while contributing to significant projects within the mining industry, utilizing advanced GIS technologies to provide actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain spatial databases for mining projects, ensuring data integrity.
- Create detailed maps, reports, and visualizations using GIS software for exploration and environmental studies.
- Analyze geospatial data to identify trends, patterns, and potential areas of interest.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate GIS data into project workflows and decision-making processes.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Geomatics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience as a GIS Specialist, preferably in the mining or natural resources sector.
- Expertise in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency in spatial data analysis, geodatabase management, and cartographic principles.
- Experience with remote sensing data and satellite imagery analysis is a plus.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, suited for remote collaboration.
