About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Remote GIS Specialist to join their innovative team, focusing on mining data analysis . This position is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. You will be responsible for managing, analyzing, and visualizing geospatial data related to exploration, resource estimation, and environmental impact assessments for various mining projects. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and maintain spatial databases for mining projects.
• Perform advanced Geographic Information System (GIS) analysis to support exploration, resource modeling, and mine planning.
• Create high-quality thematic maps, visualizations, and reports from complex geospatial data.
• Integrate various data sources, including geological, geophysical, and environmental data, into GIS platforms.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in GIS, Geography, Geomatics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in GIS, with specific experience in the natural resources or mining industry.
• Advanced proficiency with GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, and associated extensions.
• Experience with spatial database management (e.g., PostgreSQL/PostGIS) and scripting languages (e.g., Python).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
