About the Role

This position is crucial for identifying, securing, and managing funding from foundations and grant‑making bodies across South Africa. You will be responsible for researching funding opportunities, developing persuasive grant proposals, managing reporting requirements, and cultivating strong relationships with foundation program officers. Key Responsibilities

• Research and identify potential funding opportunities from foundations, trusts, and other grant‑making organizations.

• Manage the grant submission process, ensuring all applications are accurate, complete, and submitted by deadlines.
• Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with foundation program officers and key contacts.
• Monitor grant awards, ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements and terms.
• Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary information for proposals and reports.
• Maintain a database of grants received, pending applications, and reporting schedules.
• Track grant expenditures and support financial reporting related to funded projects.
• Stay informed about trends in philanthropy and the non‑profit sector, particularly in healthcare.
• Contribute to the organization's overall fundraising and development strategy.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Public Health, Social Sciences, Communications, or Nonprofit Management.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, or development, specifically working with foundations.
• Demonstrated success in securing grants from private foundations and grant‑making institutions.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for persuasive and clear proposal writing.
• Strong research skills to identify relevant funding opportunities.
• Proficiency in grant management software and MS Office Suite.
