Remote HR Specialist - Compliance

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Remote HR Specialist with a focus on Compliance to join their distributed team. This role is critical in ensuring that all HR practices and policies adhere to the latest South African labor laws and industry regulations. You will be responsible for auditing HR processes, developing compliance training, and mitigating risks associated with employment law. Working entirely remotely, you will collaborate with HR colleagues and management across different locations to maintain the highest standards of HR governance. This is an ideal position for an HR professional who excels in remote work environments and has a keen eye for regulatory detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, interpret, and advise on changes in South African labor legislation and employment law.
• Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures to ensure full compliance.
• Conduct regular HR audits to identify and rectify any compliance gaps or risks.
• Create and deliver training programs on compliance-related topics for employees and managers.
• Manage and investigate employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date compliance records and documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Law, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in HR, with a significant focus on HR compliance and labor law.
• In-depth knowledge of the South African Labour Relations Act, BCEA, EEA, and other relevant legislation.
• Experience in conducting HR audits and risk assessments.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
