About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Remote HSE Officer to support their global operations, specifically for projects located in and around Port Elizabeth . This role is designed for a proactive professional who can manage and promote Health, Safety, and Environmental standards virtually, ensuring compliance and fostering a strong safety culture across all operational sites. As a remote employee, you will leverage digital tools and communication platforms to monitor safety performance, conduct risk assessments, and provide essential HSE guidance, contributing to the overall well-being and sustainability of the company's Oil & Gas endeavors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies and procedures across operational sites.
- Conduct remote risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analyses.
- Promote and enforce safety awareness and best practices through virtual channels.
- Ensure compliance with local and international HSE regulations and company standards.
- Prepare regular HSE reports and performance metrics for management review.
- Facilitate online HSE training sessions and emergency preparedness drills.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HSE Officer, preferably with exposure to the Oil & Gas industry .
- Strong knowledge of HSE management systems (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
- Proven ability to conduct effective risk assessments and incident investigations remotely.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and IT skills for remote work.
- Familiarity with safety regulations applicable to the Eastern Cape region is advantageous.
