Remote Industrial Engineering Lead

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and visionary Industrial Engineering Lead to spearhead their remote operations and continuous improvement efforts. This senior role will involve leading a distributed team of industrial engineers, setting strategic direction for operational excellence, and driving transformative projects across the organization. You will be responsible for developing and implementing best practices in process optimization, supply chain management, and operational efficiency, all while managing a remote workforce. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong leadership qualities and a deep understanding of industrial engineering principles, capable of motivating and guiding a team to achieve ambitious operational goals from a distance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of remote industrial engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
• Develop and execute strategic plans for operational efficiency, cost reduction, and process innovation.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of complex industrial engineering projects.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational progress and identify areas for improvement.
• Implement and promote advanced methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Agile within the engineering functions.
• Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration and communication to ensure alignment on operational goals and initiatives.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field; P. Eng. certification is a strong asset.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
• Proven experience in managing remote teams and distributed engineering functions.
• Expertise in operations research, supply chain optimization, and process simulation.
• Strong strategic planning, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for effective remote leadership.
