Remote Industrial Engineering Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and self-motivated Remote Industrial Engineering Specialist to support their operations, with a focus on driving efficiency improvements across various sites, including those near Soweto. This is a fully remote position where you will apply your expertise in process analysis, optimization, and lean methodologies to solve complex operational challenges. You will work independently and collaboratively with virtual teams, providing data-driven insights and implementing sustainable solutions without the need for on-site presence. The ideal candidate is a proactive, organized, and technically proficient engineer who thrives in a remote work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze operational data and processes remotely to identify opportunities for efficiency gains, cost reductions, and quality improvements.
• Develop and document process improvements, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices, tailored for remote implementation.
• Utilize virtual collaboration tools to engage with stakeholders, conduct analysis, and present findings and recommendations.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma tools to address operational challenges identified across various company locations.
• Support the implementation of new systems or process changes through remote guidance and monitoring.
• Conduct virtual training sessions and provide ongoing support to operational teams to ensure successful adoption of improved processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial engineering, process improvement, or operations analysis.
• Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Minitab) and virtual collaboration platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams, Slack).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information effectively across distances.
• Strong self-management skills, discipline, and the ability to work effectively with minimal direct supervision.
