About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Remote Information Security Analyst to join their distributed team, supporting operations across South Africa. This role is critical for monitoring security systems, analyzing threats, and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the organization's information assets. As a fully remote employee, you will work independently, leveraging technology to protect our digital environment from cyber threats, collaborating virtually with colleagues across different regions. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software, for potential threats.
• Analyze security logs and alerts to identify suspicious activities and potential security breaches.
• Respond to and investigate security incidents, coordinating remediation efforts with relevant stakeholders.
• Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for improving security controls and processes.
• Develop and maintain security awareness training materials for employees.
• Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and industry standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in information security analysis or a related cybersecurity role.
• Familiarity with SIEM tools , vulnerability scanning, and incident response procedures.
• Strong understanding of common security threats and vulnerabilities.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective remote collaboration.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively in a remote work setting.
