Remote Information Security Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Information Security Officer to join their fully remote team, supporting operations that have ties to Bloemfontein . This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of security controls, incident response, and ensuring compliance with security policies and regulations. You will work independently but collaborate closely with cross-functional teams globally to maintain a robust security posture. Key Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain security controls, policies, and procedures across the organization.

• Provide security awareness training and guidance to employees.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in information security roles, with at least 2 years in a similar officer capacity.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, network security, and data protection.
• Experience with security tools like SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and endpoint detection and response (EDR).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and effectively in a remote setting, with strong communication skills.
