About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and skilled Remote IT Infrastructure Technician to manage and maintain their distributed IT systems and networks, supporting operations in and around Vereeniging . This role is fully remote, offering the flexibility to work from home while ensuring the reliability and performance of essential IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for remote monitoring, troubleshooting, and support of servers, networks, and end-user devices, ensuring seamless operations for all employees. Key Responsibilities
- Perform remote monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of servers, network devices, and IT infrastructure components.
- Install, configure, and update operating systems, software, and applications across the network.
- Provide technical support to end-users via remote access tools and communication channels.
- Manage network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and access controls.
- Document IT infrastructure configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an IT Infrastructure Technician or in a similar remote IT support role.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, hardware, and software troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) and virtualization technologies.
- Experience with remote management tools and ticketing systems.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work setting.
