About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and customer-focused Remote IT Support & Installation Specialist to join their expanding technical support team, serving clients throughout Gauteng and beyond. This position is entirely remote, allowing you to provide essential IT support and manage software installations from the comfort of your home office. You will be the first point of contact for many clients, resolving technical issues, guiding them through software installations, and ensuring their IT infrastructure runs smoothly. This role is ideal for an organized and technically proficient individual who excels in communication and problem-solving in a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide remote technical support to end-users, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
• Guide users through the installation and configuration of various software applications and operating systems.
• Escalate complex issues to higher-level support teams when necessary, ensuring timely resolution.
• Maintain accurate records of support interactions, issues, and resolutions in the ticketing system.
• Perform remote system maintenance, updates, and security checks to ensure system integrity.
• Develop and update knowledge base articles and FAQs to assist users and fellow support staff.

Requirements

• Proven experience in IT support, help desk operations, or a similar technical role.
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS), and common software applications.
• Familiarity with remote support tools and technologies.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Understanding of basic networking principles is beneficial for this role in Installation & Maintenance .
