About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly accomplished Lead Data Scientist to spearhead their insurance analytics initiatives. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to leverage your expertise from anywhere. You will lead a team of data scientists in developing advanced analytical models to drive strategic decisions in areas such as risk assessment, pricing, fraud detection, and customer segmentation. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with a passion for leveraging data to solve complex business problems and a proven ability to mentor and guide a high-performing data science team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of sophisticated machine learning and statistical models for insurance applications.
  • Mentor and manage a team of data scientists, providing technical guidance and fostering professional development.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify key analytical challenges and opportunities.
  • Develop and implement data-driven strategies to optimize underwriting, claims management, and customer engagement.
  • Ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of analytical solutions.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science and machine learning, applying them to relevant business problems.

Requirements

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 8+ years of experience in data science, with a strong focus on insurance analytics or a related financial services domain.
  • Proven leadership experience managing and mentoring data science teams.
  • Expertise in machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and predictive analytics.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python or R, and experience with SQL and big data technologies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
