About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Lead Geologist to join their operations in a fully remote capacity. This pivotal role involves overseeing geological assessments, guiding exploration strategies, and ensuring the effective interpretation of subsurface data for various projects across the Oil & Gas sector. You will be instrumental in leading a team of geologists, providing technical expertise, and driving geological understanding to support strategic decision-making. This position offers the unique advantage of contributing significantly to the company's exploration and development efforts from anywhere, fostering a flexible and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the geological interpretation of seismic, well log, and core data to identify and delineate hydrocarbon reservoirs.
  • Develop and refine geological models that accurately represent subsurface formations and fluid distribution.
  • Guide and mentor a team of geologists, ensuring high standards of technical work and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with reservoir engineers and geophysicists to integrate geological insights into field development plans.
  • Conduct prospectivity assessments and contribute to exploration portfolio management.
  • Present geological findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Geology, Geophysics, or a related earth science discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in geological interpretation and modeling, with significant experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to manage and mentor a technical team.
  • Expertise in geological software packages (e.g., Petrel, GeoGraphix) and data analysis techniques.
  • Strong understanding of sequence stratigraphy, sedimentology, and structural geology.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of remote collaboration.
